Many of us think that content writing is difficult and we cannot do content writing, but we are doing content writing since we started to go to school then in college. Surprised, let me tell you how.

While story telling

When I was asked to narrate a particular story from my teacher, I narrated the story by creating story on my own and then reciting it in my own words. In this way I created content.

Writing answers while attempting school exams

While we go to school to give exams, we encounter questions of 5 marks ie explain your answer in brief. In order to attempt those questions, we first learn the questions and answers at the end of the chapters then we write the answers in our own words giving accurate explaination to the questions of 5 marks thus providing correct information in them. In this way we are curating and writing our own content corresponding to those questions. In order to get highest marks in school exam we learn the facts and information given in text books and then we curate it in our own words in examination. Then based on our answers we get high marks from teachers while in case of google search engine we get high traffic. Thus we can say that content writing is not difficult, we are doing content writing in fact we are trained in content writing right from school whether in form of writing long answers or whether in form of writing essays, letters. Debate writing which we do in school is also a form of content writing. We learn reading and writing from the school.

Doing content writing while writing long answers for questions in college exams

While I was attempting questions which require long answers, I first prepared for the answers by reading college books related to the questions or topic like questions related to Pharmacist’s oath, related to pharmacology like writing mechanism of action of drugs, pharmacological actions, side effects, indications and contraindications. In pharmacognosy we write pharmacognosy of drugs like clove, fennel, neem which consists of general description, classification, pharmacological actions, uses and chemical constituents. In medicinal chemistry we write general description of drugs, structure activity relationship, pharmacological action. In writing these information we consume the information in form of learning answers from the college books like KD tripathi, Rang and Dale, Pharmacognosy text book by Mohommad Ali.

When I was giving exam of my M.pharm pharmacology second semester, I encountered question on pharmacological question based on female contraception. I felt nervous as I had not prepared for that question and thus experienced fear of failure. Slowly and slowly I recalled the lecture on female contraception which was given by Our pharmacology professor Dr. Manju sharma ma'am. Based on my recall I wrote content(answer) on female contraception and thus passed my M.pharm pharmacology paper of M.pharm second semester.

While preparing research literature for research project

In M.pharm, when I was doing research work, I had to prepare research literature which describes how I will perform research(research methodology), what is the reason behind performing the research work. While preparing that I have to search the research papers for the research work, collecting information from the research papers, and jotting down all the information and method of performing the research project from the particular research paper searched while searching research papers into the research literature prepared for my research project. In this way I curated content from the research papers and putting this content in the research literature in easy to understand manner.

What we should keep in mind while creating content?

We should focus more on the utility of our content. Even bicycle is made from materials like two tyres which are in turn made from rubber and iron and whole body of cycle is made of iron and handle made from plastic. Together they have made bicycle which is useful to us in ways like exercising.

We are unique in one or other way, whether it is in reference to our ideas, examples or stories. So do not worry about originality. Instead of this, write a content which is helpful for your readers whether giving inspiration to your readers or giving some ideas which will be instrumental in changing life of your audience. You should show your knowledge and experience in your own words.

Two important techniques which enables you to write content in effective manner?

The important techniques which are helpful in content writing are:

1.       Reading: reading is essential as reading will give you lot of ideas regarding your content and helps you increase your vocabulary and also improves your grammer. You can read blogposts from different websites, ebooks and newspapers.

2.       Listening to English podcasts: When we listen to English podcasts for a very long time, we start thinking in English language and communication skills improve a lot. You can download the app of Hindustan times as it enables you to listen the news written in it through audio option provided in it.

These two techniques will help you in creating your content in your own words and thus will help you write content in different manner as you will be able explain the information in the internet in a different way explaining the sentences in a different version of sentence.

Conclusion

Thus writing content becomes convenient if we follow these ideas as described above. We should overcome the imposter syndrome which lurks inside us and do content writing because everybody can do the content writing.
