thus sugar builds up in our blood.

but it’s not high enough for the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.
Gestational diabetes is high blood sugar during pregnancy.
Insulin-blocking hormones produced by placenta cause gestational
diabetes.
Diabetes insipidus is a different condition in which our kidneys remove
too much fluid from our body.

34.2 million people of all ages – about 1 in 10 – have diabetes in the
U.S. 7.3 million adults aged 18 and older (about 1 in 5) are unaware that
they have diabetes (just under 3% of all U.S. adults). The number of
people who are diagnosed with diabetes increases with age. More than
26% of adults age 65 and older that is about 1 in 4 have diabetes.
Diabetes was the ninth leading cause of death in 2019 with an estimated
1.5 million deaths which is directly caused by diabetes.
Ayurvedic treatment for diabetes
Ayurveda specifies the use of some herbs that aid in diabetes
treatment. Different scholars prefer to be drawned to herbal
preparations for treatment of metabolic syndrome. Here are few
ayurvedic herbs used to alleviate symptoms of diabetes.
1.Turmeric: Powder of this turmeric is anti-allergic, anti-cancer,
anti-inflammatory, and one of the strongest natural anti-diabetic
agents. Turmeric generally aids in the purification of the blood, acts
as a channel opener, aids in the reduction of insulin resistance,
and thus it facilitates glucose entry into the cells. Turmeric is

2.Saptrangi: It is an excellent diabetes treatment. It is a tree whose
bark is effective at regulating blood sugar levels. It is being studied
in western herbal universities, but has been used in Ayurveda for
centuries. The herb is shown to have anti-diabetic effects.
3.Vizaysaar: The bark of this large tree contains significant
anti-diabetic properties. Diabetic patients keep this in some water
in the wooden glass overnight and drink it in the morning. When
colour of water does not change to brown, the glass is replaced
after approximately one month.
4.Bilva: This tree’s roots remain covered in three leaves. Any tree
with a mixture of three leaves is regarded by ayurveda as divine
and the abode of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwar. Its fruit is
beneficial for irritable bowel syndrome. Bilva leaves are excellent
for diabetics. The leaves of this tree are dried, ground into a
powder, and combined with other herbs to maximize effectiveness.
5.Gurmar: Gurmar is translated as “The sugar destroyer” in Hindi. It
is a twine that is used in Ayurveda for centuries for its
sugar-regulating properties. Recent research is indicated that it
comprises Gymnemic acid molecules, which are supposed to be
responsible for its anti-diabetic properties. They form complexes
with sugar molecules in the intestines, thus preventing them from

regulates blood sugar levels. Additionally, it is being beneficial for a
variety of cancers, respiratory and bacterial infections, sore
throats, coughs, and colds.
8.Fenugreek: A spicy, pungent herb that helps in the reduction of
excess kapha. It is an outstanding herb for controlling blood sugar
and cholesterol levels. Its seed powder is used to help control
blood sugar levels.
9.Neem: In Ayurveda, neem historically is used to purify the blood
and boost the immune system. It helps in the maintenance of
normal blood glucose levels.
10.Guggulu: Guggulu is used in Ayurveda for centuries to gently
detoxify the body and promote appropriate nutrients by enhancing
the body’s metabolism and aiding in the elimination of waste

11.Amla: It is the richest source of vitamin C on the planet and is
